Overview
This two-day workshop (April 28 and May 12) provides attendees with the knowledge and skills to create ASP.NET 2.0 applications. It will show the advancement from ASP.NET 1.X to ASP.NET 2.0 in creating applications. The workshop focuses on new features and functionality of ASP.NET The workshop includes sample code in both Microsoft® Visual Basic® .NET and Microsoft Visual C#®. Both days will include hands-on lab time.

Creating an ASP.NET 2.0 Application - This topic covers the entities that form the foundation of Web applications written in ASP.NET 2.0. Includes: new Web development environment, compile-on-demand, and page object model
Using Master Pages - This topic shows how master pages allow developers to reuse code across pages. Includes: master and content pages, nested master pages, and program master pages
Working with Data -This topic will describe the new data access features. Includes: data-binding, data providers, data source components, data source control, and data-bound controls
About the speaker
Gentry Bieker is an Enterprise Architect and instructor for Inacom Information Systems. His certifications include MCT, MCSE, MCSA, MCSE:Security and MCDBA. He has been in the field since 1997 and was the architect of Inacom’s Education data mart and Sharepoint Portal. He has taught courses in a number of areas, including SQL Server, IIS and Web Application Security, and Microsoft .NET development (C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET).
Who should Attend?
This workshop is intended for experienced Web application developers. This could include those employed by software companies, those working on corporate Web development teams as well as faculty members and graduate students. Participants should have some prior understanding of ASP.NET 1.0, HTML, XML, and ADO.NET.
