Overview
The latest version of Java, J2SE version 5 (code name "Tiger"), is the biggest change to Java language since its launch over 10 years ago. From a deployment perspective the versions many useful new features will simplify monitoring, managing, and performance tuning of the Java virtual machine. With ease of development as the focus of this release, developers will need to be aware of its new features. The in-depth technical content of this workshop will acquaint developers with the use of these new features, including generics, metadata, and the new concurrency utilities.
The first part of this workshop will describe the new features of J2SE 5.0. The second, 3-hour session, will consist of a hands-on lab.
