A full day seminar presented by Hans Zaunere, MySQL, Inc. This workshop is being hosted by Dr. Huimin Zhao, Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems at the School of Business Administration, University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.

Overview

AMP is an application solution stack created and developed by New York PHP. By combining recognized next generation open source technologies Apache, MySQL and PHP, it creates a vertical for platform independent Internet applications. AMP is already deployed in millions of mission critical environments and depended on by businesses worldwide. Each AMP element delivers the best power and reliability in it’s horizontal, and together provides a technology column the enterprise can rely on. MySQL is the ‘M’ in AMP and provides critical data manipulation. By utilizing a modular design itself, the MySQL server is a natural part of the AMP technology stack with perfect fits for tasks such as high volume web sites, OLAP/OLTP, and clustering environments. Join New York PHP Founder and MySQL Sales Engineer Hans Zaunere to learn about the next generation of open source application and database technology. This workshop will introduce core AMP concepts and the vital role MySQL plays in supporting the entire stack. Hans will then focus on MySQL under the hood, its unique storage engine architecture, Cluster technology, deployment strategies, and the road ahead with MySQL 5.0.

Topics

Topics AMP: Learn how Apache, MySQL and PHP work together on any operating system to provide a platform for Internet applications. MySQL Introduction: Briefly explore MySQL’s history, available products, and the company behind it. Under the Hood: See what makes MySQL tick, its storage engine architecture, Cluster, and the feature set that makes it a first class database. Development Commitments: Learn MySQL’s secret sauce for developing mission critical quality software and supporting Fortune 500 companies. The Road Ahead: Get up to speed with current features and what’s right around the corner.
