Overview

It is widely accepted that a key cost driver for businesses today is the challenge of integration across a heterogeneous IT landscape. The goal of the SAP NetWeaver solution is to help facilitate this integration challenge by delivering a sound integration and application platform based on open standards and an Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA) framework. SAP NetWeaver harnesses the flexibility of a services oriented architecture (SOA) coupled with technologies to allow you to integrate your IT environment from a "people" perspective, "information" perspective, and "process" perspective, all built upon a robust development platform that facilitates composite application composition.

Who should Attend?

This workshop is primarily intended for architecture and development specialists who are facing the challenge of maintaining a heterogeneous IT environment, while still searching for ways in which to be innovative. The participants will see some practical applications of the "promise" of web services and an Enterprise Services architecture and the way that the SAP NetWeaver technology platform can facilitate these development projects. More specifically, for individuals who may only be familiar with SAP as an enterprise software application provider, they will be introduced to the full scope and power of the technology that powers all of the SAP applications and given direction on how they can leverage this robust platform to solve their own integration and development challenges using JAVA or ABAP.

Coordinator

This technology event is being coordinated by Dr. Dave Haseman, Wisconsin Distinguished Professor of Management Information Systems at the School of Business Administration, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is also the Director of UWM Center for Technology Innovation.
