In today's global
economy, companies must continuously improve and innovate - or their products
and services become obsolete. In this dynamic environment, information becomes
a key source of competitive advantage and technology becomes fundamental to
economic growth.
In the Lubar School of Business at the
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, these trends have resulted in significant
innovations in our curriculum, increased requests for applied research, and
continued demand for technology-focused management training.
To coordinate all of these technology-related
developments, the Lubar School Center for Technology
Innovation (CTI) serves as an overarching structure and focal point for these
activities.
The Center for Technology Innovation coordinates the
School's management technology research and teaching initiatives. The Center
also serves as the focal point for corporate support and government grant
activity to fund faculty research and community outreach. In addition, the
Center is the School's link to the business, campus and UW-System communities.
The immediate goal of the Center is to coordinate the
interaction between the School and the business community in the areas of
sponsored technology research, eBusiness, SAP, data warehousing, web
development, and technology-focused management training.
Business community support at various levels of
participation and the development of an Advisory Board and special interest
advisory committees are in progress.
